Domestic violence charges were read out in the Maroochydore Magistrate's Court to a petite woman, who pleaded guilty to a charge of domestic violence in which the court heard she teased the victim about the size of his penis and bit his nipple.

The woman who can’t be named for legal reasons, had her sleeping baby in a pram next to her as the charges were read.

Postnatal depression to blame?

The police prosecutor detailed how the incident unfolded in a Sunshine Coast home on November 20.

The court heard on November 20, 2016; the victim was at his home on the Sunshine Coast with his three children when the woman started to "verbally abuse" him including accusing the man of having a "small penis".

The perpetrator then ripped the victim's shirt and "bit his right nipple and drew a small amount of blood".

A lawyer said the woman had been suffering post-natal depression and "severe pelvic inflammation". Lack of money was also an issue.

"It was a frustrating time for them, and it was a two-way argument," said the woman’s lawyer.

The woman had no prior criminal history, but the magistrate Stjernqvist noted there was a “previous incident”. 

The woman objected, but her protests were short-lived when the magistrate said: "Think about it, there is an order in place."

There was little doubt the problem in "no small way is alcohol," he added. 

The woman received a sentence of 12 months probation with no conviction recorded.
