A letter from Rosie Batty:
Last month I gave evidence at the government’s inquiry into the family law system and family violence.
I was emotionally affected and overwhelmed as I recounted the countless pleas for help from women and their children who are victims of an overburdened and underfunded family law system.
Hundreds of women and children are caught in a vicious legal limbo, left to navigate a complex and underfunded system alone because they are unable to find the financial means to afford the luxury of legal representation.
I feel incredibly privileged to be given a national platform where I can represent our tight-knit community and campaign for critical reform.
The good news is that it isn’t too late to share your own personal story with the committee.
You have ONE MORE WEEK to share your story by completing an anonymous questionnaire available here until Thursday, 31 August 2017. Click here to complete the questionnaire now.
It is so important that the people sitting on this inquiry hear from as many victims as possible who have been let down and continue to place their children in the dangerous hands of those who choose to use violence because they are forced to do so.
Right now our children are being forced into dangerous and life-threatening situations and these children need our help.
You can find out more about the inquiry, including the terms of reference here.
Your voice is so important and by standing together we will not be ignored.
Together we will make a difference.
Thank you for standing with me.

P.S. You can watch my evidence before the Inquiry here.
